About

I'm Kathryn!
I created this blog as a place to document my sewing projects.
I had been itching to create a physical portfolio, but that proved to be impractical. A blog seemed to be the perfect place where I could post limitless pictures and information about what I make. I love to sew and I love to write so a blog just made sense.

I have been sewing since I was a young girl.
My sister and I used to make pillows and clothes for our dolls.
In high school I developed more of an interest and in 2007 I got my first sewing machine for Christmas! And I hit the ground running.
I loved to create new things and customize old things. My first big project was a t-shirt quilt made of all my high school t-shirts.

Since then, I graduated from college with a minor in clothing construction. During my senior year of college I worked at the BYU-Idaho Theater Department Costume Shop where I had the opportunity to sew the costumes for the theater productions each semester.

Shortly after college I married my husband, Jesse, and spent our short 3 month engagement making my wedding dress. It was brutal but totally worth it.

Since then I have been regularly practicing my pattern making skills and creating pieces for myself, my husband, and our baby boy!
I've loved having a space where I can share my creations and document my process. I love to look back on old projects and brainstorm new ones. With each project, I hope to learn something and strengthen my skills as a seamstress.
